Emission Line Maps of the Large and Small Magellanic Clouds, and HI Observations of Giant Low Surface Brightness Galaxies.
In 1924, the Commonwealth Solar Observatory was established, which turned into the Commonwealth Observatory and then Mount Stromlo Observatory. From the first atlas of the Sun, to optical munitions, observations of Sputnik, measuring the size of the Universe, as well as finding lots of surprises along the way, Mount Stromlo has been at the forefront of astronomical discoveries.
Join Mount Stromlo astronomer and Nobel Laureate in Physics Prof Brian Schmidt in conversation with ABC's Annabel Crabb on a journey through 100 years of Mount Stromlo Observatory.
