Turn your eyes from the lights of Enlighten up to the night skies of Canberra for the total lunar eclipse on Tuesday 3 March 2026! Australian Parliament House (APH), in partnership with Mt Stromlo Observatory and the Canberra Astronomical Society, invites you to a free viewing of this unique event under the stars on the front lawn of Australian Parliament House.

Blood Moon

Turn your eyes from the lights of Enlighten up to the night skies of Canberra for the lunar eclipse on Tuesday 3 March 2026! Australian Parliament House (APH), in partnership with Dr Brad Tucker, Mt Stromlo Observatory and the Canberra Astronomical Society, invites you to a free viewing of this unique event under the stars on the front lawn of Australian Parliament House.

Drop in anytime between 8:50 pm and 11:00 pm and experience one of nature’s most captivating celestial events. The lunar eclipse will be at its peak eclipse between 10:00 pm and 11:00 pm.

Explore the Blood Moon up close through telescopes!

Discover the stories of the night sky and learn more about Canberra’s place in the cosmos. Bring your curiosity—and bring your binoculars if you’d like!

This is an outdoor event, and participants may encounter uneven surfaces and changing weather conditions. We recommend dressing warmly and wearing comfortable shoes.
