Invar Cold Spray Creep Measurement

CSIRO has a cold spray research group which is developing cold sprayed Invar. This project will be developing an optical metrology setup to measure the creep of the cold sprayed Invar in collaboration with CSIRO Lab22 in Clayton, Victoria.

About

An metrology setup will be designed to measure the creep of samples of cold sprayed Invar. The samples must be held isothermally, and under load. The creep will be very small, so an optical technique would be suitable to measure the creep. The creep for the samples will be on the order of 25nm, so something like a common path interferometer must be used. Outcomes will be creep data which will be published in a journal article, the student will be included as a co-author.
