Research Research projects Dust in the Milky Way Galaxy Dust in the Milky Way affects astronomical observations. Here we try too improve our knowledge of its distribution. In this project we aim to use these background objects to actually reconstruct the distribution of dust in the Milky Way, using data from SkyMapper, Gaia, GALEX, VISTA and WISE. As a result, we will be able to reconstruct the true nature of the galaxies and quasars and obtain a better 3D map of the Universe around us.
