Heating and dynamics of the Sun’s atmosphere
The Sun is a unique laboratory for understanding fundamental processes occurring in astrophysical plasmas. Energy transport from the solar interior to the atmosphere results in multi-million degree coronal temperatures, accelerating the solar wind out into the heliosphere. Moreover, it drives dynamic atmospheric phenomena such as flares, eruptions and jets. I will give an overview of (selected) observations and MHD modelling efforts.

Within general relativity, the standard cosmological model adopts many approximations for gravitational interactions and geometry. These approximations have served us well so far, but as our error bars grow smaller and smaller we need to know at exactly what point they fail.
