Characterising biases in the Pantheon sample of Type Ia supernovae

The analysis of the recently released Pantheon sample of Type Ia supernovae currently provides the tightest constraints on the nature of dark energy. However, there are a number of assumptions in the analysis that may have resulted in a biased result. The aim of this project is to estimate the magnitude of these biases and to provide revised constraints.

This project is suitable for students that have some knowledge of programming in C++ and an interest in cosmology.
