GAP - a sausage machine for 1 million stars

GALAH is an unprecedented state-of-the-art survey that will measure physical parameters and elemental abundances for 1 million stars in the Milky Way using the instrument HERMES, a new high-resolution multi-object spectrograph on the Anglo-Australian Telescope. December 2012 is a critical time as this instrument is assembled and the survey begins to take shape. This project will be aimed at helping to put the finishing touches on the GALAH Abundance Pipeline (GAP) by undergoing extensive testing of end-to-end software so it is ready to leap into action in 2013!
