Overview

The 2.3m Telescope Imager is an optical imaging camera that is mounted at a Nasmyth focal station. The Imager detectors were upgraded and a new CCD controller installed in 2004.

Basic specifications

  • Mounted at f/18 Nasmyth focus 
  • Field of view: 6.62 arcmin in diameter
  • Detector: 2048x2048 thinned E2V CCD
  • Pixel size: 13.5 micron
  • Plate scale: 0.338 arcsec/pixel 
  • Readout time (for 1200 pixel box): approximately 10 seconds

Information for observers

The Imager is mounted at the Nasmyth focus of the ANU 2.3m telescope and provides a 6 arcminute field of view with a plate scale of 0.34 arcsec/pixel. It is equipped with a 2kx2k E2V CCD detector.
